Stefanie and Carlos’ Lafayette wedding has definitely been my most unique and colorful wedding to date! It was such a happy celebration of culture, color and joy!! Stefanie is from Chicago and Carlos is from Mexico City. Stefanie ended up coming to the University of Louisiana in Lafayette for grad school and met Carlos who was here for work! They ended up dating, falling in love and stayed living in Lafayette! When Carlos proposed they decided to celebrate their wedding here with all of their best friends! Both of their families traveled very far to be with them on their special day. It was a big family reunion and everyone had such an amazing time!! I loved seeing the influences from Mexico and Chicago throughout the day! For instance, Carlos and all of his best men decided to wear traditional linen Mexican dress suits. This made for a much cooler option in August for them!! I loved the influence from Stefanie’s family to have a toast at the wedding given by Stefanie’s dad. This was definitely a moment when everyone needed tissue! Stefanie and Carlos decided to have a big cajun meal for their wedding guests so everyone could experience our culture here! The food was super YUMMY! So many little details were included in the wedding to bring both cultures and families together :) What a fun experience for me to photograph Spanish dancing and music then switch to American line dances! It was definitely a night that I will never forget :) Congratulations, Stefanie and Carlos!!! Here are just a few of my favorites <3 Stefanie’s friend from Chicago hand-painted these shoes for her!! I LOVE them!!
Stefanie and her mom share the same infectious smile! Together they light up a room :)
Love this girl’s smile!!!!
I think these are some of my favorite bridesmaid pictures…ever!!
Stefanie really wanted to have a first look with her dad. I have to admit to shedding a few tears!
I was so happy that we were able to take all the portraits BEFORE the ceremony to enable Stefanie & Carlos to enjoy their reception!!
Rip Van Winkle is such an amazing place for portraits. Love this porch!!!
Sunset happened at the absolutely perfect time for us to sneak in a few shots. I was excited to say the least!!
These little details made the wedding so personal and special!
This cake is so Stefanie!! Joyful and colorful!! :)
Even extended family from Mexico were able to join in on the fun!!
