Family Vacation: Destin, Florida

My favorite vacation growing up was always Destin, Florida! Getting to visit with my own little family now is so special for me! Steven and I spontaneously decided to book/leave for Florida all in a two week time frame. The Florida border opened for Louisiana residents and we couldn’t resist taking one last vacation as a family of three!

Our absolute FAVORITE place to stay in Florida is the Coral Reef Club in Destin. It’s only three stories, which means a limited number of rooms and the beach is never crowded! You literally walk from the patio of your room directly onto sand! At 7 months pregnant I definitely didn’t want a long, exhausting walk, so I was super thankful it’s close and convenient! I included a photo of our condo building so you could see how small and easy it is.

My family ended up coming meet us for the weekend and Emma enjoyed playing with all the aunts + uncles! My little brother is only a year older than Emma…making the two of us 25 years apart! They definitely have a love/hate relationship and the pictures of them playing on the beach are some of my favorites!

A quick beach photoshoot was a necessity of course…even though Emma was NOT a fan! Luckily we were able to get a few sweet pictures of her before the tears started. Beach sessions when the sun goes down at 7 pm are not ideal for exhausted toddlers!
