St. Landry Catholic Church, Opelousas Wedding: Ashley + Gavin

On Saturday two of the most kind-hearted, sweet, loving and BEST people married each other!!! There are times I get to photograph weddings so sweet, I marvel at how lucky I am that these people found us to be their photographers. If Ashley and Gavin could get married every weekend, I would be happy!

Literally, everything went wrong during their months wedding planning and still they never lost their spark of joy and positivity. This wedding was supposed to happen back in May…and in spite of tons of obstacles I’m so happy these two are Mr. and MRS. Doucet!

A few months ago Ashley let me in on a big secret. Gavin’s lifelong dream was to own a golden-doodle dog…so she bought him a puppy as a wedding present! This all took place a few weeks before their original wedding date….fast forward to their wedding having to be rescheduled and moved to July…so the puppy continued to stay in hiding with family members. Ashley and their family have been hiding this dog from Gavin for the past 3 months!!! When she surprised him during the reception by bringing out the puppy he was SHOCKED and ECSTATIC!!! One of my favorite wedding moments of the year for sure!

This day reminds me of what weddings are truly about. Two people, completely in love, promising to spend the rest of their lives together. Plans change, vendors cancel, viruses happen…but love doesn’t fade. Congratulations, Ashley and Gavin! We love ya’ll! :)
