St. Pius Catholic Church Wedding: Katie + Ryan

Katie and Ryan’s wedding happened to be on the most popular wedding date of 2020…10.10.20. Unfortunately a hurricane was headed straight for us the night before, making their original date seem impossible! Thanks to their quick thinking and the hard work of their amazing wedding planner + vendors, they were able to push their ceremony back a few days early in order to beat the hurricane!

In spite of the craziness, rain and hurricane on the way, this was such a joyful day! Katie is truly one of the kindest people I’ve ever met and watching her marry a guy as awesome as Ryan…it made my heart happy. Katie mentioned sometime during the day that she simply wouldn’t have survived all this craziness without Ryan. I literally say the same thing every day to myself about Steven. 😂 I’m thankful that we had the privilege of watching these two become husband and wife. Truly the best is yet to come!

Looking forward to celebrating AGAIN in a few months with a super fun reception! Until then, enjoy the sweetest of intimate ceremonies. The priest commented during the homily something I thought was profound. He told the couple something like this: “Thank you for choosing to celebrate love today in the midst of so many uncertainties. This is what we as people need right now…to see love in action. Love that overcomes obstacles and celebrates life. Thank you for helping us find joy today and giving us something to celebrate in the midst of a hurricane!”
