Veritas XXIV 2013 Catholic Teen Retreat

This is something I’ve been working on a couple of weeks! I was able to go on the Veritas XXIV Retreat hosted by St. John’s Cathedral in Lafayette and held at Camp Woodmen in Abbeville as the staff photographer and it was an amazing experience!! I had previously gone on the retreat in high school and loved it! So, when I had the opportunity to go as staff AND be the photographer I jumped at the chance! Only this time I was extremely busy and had a camper to myself! The only downside was I wasn’t able to shower the entire retreat! The water didn’t work in my camper :( lol! I felt pretty grungy! But it all worked out :) It would be impossible for me to write about all the experiences and amazing parts of the retreat, but I hope the below attached videos speak for themselves! Throughout the weekend we took about 800 pictures and lots of video to make this video which is shown on the last day of the retreat! I hope everyone enjoys it and sees the amazing things that the priests and all the staff members are able to provide for all these teens. God is good! waking up at 6 am does have it benefits! I was trying to wake myself up walking to breakfast when I saw this view!

this was the end of a giant color run they did with the kids after confession! Pretty cool picture :)

adoration is my absolute favorite part of the retreat…there is something so holy just being present before Jesus in monstrance, and when the priest processes around the room you can just feel his presence in that place
